About The Position

Conestoga Wood Specialties Corp is a leading manufacturer of wood components for the kitchen, bath, and furniture industries. We are seeking an Outside Sales Representative to manage the Minnesota territory, which includes Iowa, Minnesota, Kansas, Nebraska, North, and South Dakota. The role involves establishing sales relationships, negotiating customer purchase commitments, maintaining existing accounts, and promoting products and services to meet sales goals. This position also requires communicating customer feedback and troubleshooting quality and service issues.

Requirements

  • College degree
  • 3+ years of successful field sales experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Goal driven
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient with MS Office software

Responsibilities

  • Travel throughout the assigned geographical territory (including overnight 1-2 nights/week) calling on existing and prospective customers soliciting/enriching buying relationships and increasing territory purchase volume
  • Promote products and services through consultative selling techniques while pursuing a strengthened understanding of customer business practices
  • Provide troubleshooting assistance to both internal and external customers
  • Manage profitability through negotiation of trade discounts based on purchase volume and other factors in compliance with predetermined trade discount guidelines
  • Prepare required reports on customer, marketplace, and competitor data to make internal departments aware of product and service needs
