About The Position

The Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for increasing sales volume with both new and existing Walling Company products and services within their assigned territory, focusing on achieving budget goals. This role involves managing accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining existing business by developing and presenting value propositions. The representative will partner with internal teams such as Customer Service, Accounting, and Finance to provide excellent customer service and interact with leadership to achieve sales goals. A key aspect of the role is to grow awareness of applications and products distributed by The Walling Company. Responsibilities include creating detailed price quotes, providing follow-up, and delivering training and solutions to external customers. The role also involves actively participating in sales forecast development and reporting, maintaining relationships with plants servicing customers, and representing the company at trade shows. Travel, including overnight stays, within the territory and to trade show locations is required.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Industrial sales experience, preferably in the manufacturing business, is required.
  • Experience with industrial pumps and rotating equipment is required.
  • Solid understanding of local area networking and territory management to concepts and standards needed to sell and manage equipment sales.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical equipment.
  • Willingness and desire to win and support The Walling Company team, through sales & service of its products.
  • Strong Customer focus.
  • Self-motivated, high initiative, self-directed.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Achievement oriented.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office Suite.
  • Ability to travel by vehicle daily and overnight 15%-30% in the U.S. assigned territory as needed to meet growth and customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Increase sales volume with both new and existing Walling Company products and services within the territory focusing on achieving budget goals.
  • Communicate with existing customers and manage accounts to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain existing business by developing and presenting value propositions to existing customers.
  • Partner with colleagues in functional areas including Customer Service, Accounting and Finance to provide the best customer service possible.
  • Interact with leadership in achieving sales goals.
  • Grow awareness of the applications and all products The Walling Company distributes in growing the business.
  • Create detailed price quotes and ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Create and deliver training and other solutions to external customers.
  • Actively participate in the development of the sales forecast and developing the growth of The Walling Company products and services in territory.
  • Complete and update sales-related paperwork and reporting systems.
  • Maintain relationships with plants that service customers in the assigned territory, product area, or accounts.
  • Work different trade shows to support vendor and Walling Company sales.
  • Be willing to travel and stay overnight as needed within the territory and various trade show locations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
