About The Position

The Outside Sales Representative will sell products and services offered by Ganahl Lumber to current and new clientele in a business-to-business setting. The role involves building and maintaining a network of sources for new sales leads, communicating with customers to understand their needs and suggest appropriate products/services, demonstrating product utility, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining relationships with existing and previous customers. The representative will also maintain detailed reports of sales activities, provide account sales forecasts, and contribute to annual business expansion through new accounts, new product sales, and new partnerships.

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Sales, Business, or related field OR At least five years of related experience required.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to travel.
  • Must have your own reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read and interpret specifications and blueprints is preferred.
  • Construction fundamentals from site to rooftop is preferred.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish and English a plus.
  • Related industry experiences is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Builds and maintains a network of sources from which to identify new sales leads.
  • Communicate with customers and leads to identify and understand their product or service needs; identify and suggest products and services to meet those needs.
  • Demonstrate the functions and utility of products or services to customers based on their needs.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolves any issues that may arise during the sales lifecycle.
  • Maintain communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them of new products, services, and enhancements that may be of interest.
  • Maintains detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems.
  • Provides periodic account sales forecasts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Annual business expansion is expected which includes: New accounts, New product sales, New partnerships.
