About The Position

Hood Distribution in Ayer, MA is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to manage an established sales territory covering central MA to near 495, and into southwest NH. The company is a wholesale distributor of specialty wood products and building materials. The ideal candidate will have experience managing a diverse customer base within a sales territory. While experience in Lumber and Building Materials is preferred, it is not required. A background in consultative selling and a proven track record of success are considered a plus.

Requirements

  • Experience in managing a sales territory with a diverse base of customers.
  • Ability to build relationships and generate sales.
  • Ability to coordinate visits and sales presentations.
  • Ability to meet customer needs by providing needed products and high levels of customer service.
  • Ability to coordinate outside sales efforts with inside sales reps and operations team.
  • Ability to assure that inside sales force is aware of customer, service, or quality issues that could affect business.
  • Ability to support existing and new customers in receiving credit approvals or resolving accounts receivables questions.
  • Ability to investigate and resolve customer complaints.
  • Must consent to a background check and a drug screen.
  • Must provide documentation indicating legal right to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships and generate sales of wood and specialty products to retail lumberyards and specialty dealers within a defined territory.
  • Coordinate visits and sales presentations with vendor partner sales representatives.
  • Meet customer needs by providing needed products and high levels of customer service.
  • Coordinate outside sales efforts with inside sales reps and operations team.
  • Ensure the inside sales force is aware of customer, service, or quality issues that could affect business.
  • Support existing and new customers in receiving credit approvals or resolving accounts receivables questions.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints.
