About The Position

Municipal Emergency Services (MES) is seeking an outgoing, customer-focused, organized, self-disciplined, and money-motivated Outside Sales Representative to join their team. This full-time position involves assisting Police Departments and other First Responder departments in the assigned territory with their law enforcement equipment needs. The role requires working closely with existing customers and new prospects, managing the entire sales cycle, and providing end-user training and product setup. The territory covers Long Island Southern NY, including Rockland and Westchester surrounding counties. MES provides full training on sales and products, and the role involves approximately 25% travel within the assigned territory.

Requirements

Effective listening, communication (verbal and written), and negotiating skills
Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards
Able to perform business math (gross margin calculations, etc.)
Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Must be able to lift 50 pounds (demo equipment, sizing gear, etc.)
Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen (excludes THC) and background check
A high school diploma

Nice To Haves

Minimum 2 - 3 years in similar position
Prior experience selling to emergency responders is highly preferred
Experience as a first responder/EMT/Law Enforcement Officer
Military veterans are highly encouraged to apply to this position
Bachelor's degree preferred

Responsibilities

Assist Police Departments and other First Responder departments with their law enforcement equipment needs.
Work closely with existing customers and new prospects.

Conduct outreach to correctional facilities.
