About The Position

Life's WORC has been providing high-quality services and support to people with intellectual disabilities and autism for over 50 years. We currently support over 2,000 individuals across our residential locations and community programs. We are committed to hiring diverse talent and fostering a culture of equity. This is a full-time position located in Suffolk County, Long Island, NY.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years’ experience in general maintenance and repair.
Ability to work independently.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Ability to troubleshoot/repair basic plumbing and electrical issues.
Overall knowledge and ability to utilize basic hand tools.
Three years’ experience in general maintenance and repair.
Strong appliance diagnostics/repair background.
Valid driver’s license.
Must have reliable vehicle.

Nice To Haves

Trade Certifications (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) preferred.
Certification a plus in HVAC, electric, plumbing and carpentry.

Responsibilities

Ensure assigned homes meet agency standards for safety.
Complete all work assignments in an efficient manner.
Perform snow removal and landscaping tasks as needed and assigned, including providing on-call support during storms or other emergencies.
Purchase and store necessary equipment and supplies.
Submit receipts of all purchases made on a weekly basis.
Establish systems to ensure for ongoing routine maintenance.
Attend scheduled maintenance meetings.
Drive agency vans and demonstrate safe driving practices.
Perform other duties as needed.
Maintain Suffolk programs and field work when required.
