About The Position

The Outside Sales Representative II meets with existing and prospective customers within the geographical territories of Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. The Outside Sales Representative II discusses customer needs and quotes products. The Outside Sales Representative II manages the assigned territory to achieve the sales plan while maintaining excellent customer service and strong customer relationships.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 4 years of sales experience in the industrial product industry.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Retail or customer service experience.
  • Maintain a valid driver license and vehicle insurance.
  • Able to operate a motor vehicle safely and lift 70 pounds.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Windows Operating System.

Nice To Haves

  • Sales experience and hardware industry background preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Availability for overnight travel.

Responsibilities

  • Meets with customers to discuss company’s products; may take customer inventory and suggest orders; serves as outside contact to customers for the Company.
  • Improves knowledge of product specifications and applications and answers general questions about Industrial Solutions & Hillman products.
  • Improves knowledge of department operating procedures, company products, and customer account specifications.
  • Creates customer quotations and generates routine and special-order paperwork according to established account profiles.
  • Works with Inside Customer Service & Sales Team to finalize orders.
  • Initiates customer call route and schedule as needed; creates daily call reports to grow sales territory to the best of ability.
  • Treats all customers in a courteous and professional manner; continually strives for a higher level of service and customer satisfaction.
  • Attends trade shows, association meetings and seminars as required.
  • Deliver’s products on an as needed basis.
  • Participate in safety and health program activities including immediately reporting hazards, immediately reporting unsafe work practices and incidents to supervisors, wearing required personal protective equipment, and participating in and supporting safety committee activities.
