About The Position

Stewart & Stevenson Power Products is seeking an Outside Diesel Sales Parts & Service Representative for their Albuquerque, NM location. This role is responsible for selling parts and services to various industries including trucking, fleet delivery, construction, mining, oil and gas, emergency services, and industrial machinery within an assigned territory (Denver, CO and Commerce City, CO). The goal is to achieve maximum sales profitability and growth.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service & sales skills.
  • Valid driver's license and MVR in good standing.
  • Diesel Sales or a related subject, or acceptable sales related work experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Proven outside sales experience (preferably in diesel parts & service sales).
  • Technical aptitude to adapt to the fast pace of a growing company and stay continuously educated on the latest products and services.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word.
  • Ability to communicate in writing clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to demonstrate conduct conforming to a set of values and accepted standards.

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) and two to seven years related experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to build strong presentations for customers and present them in a clear and concise manner.
  • Must follow company pricing guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the position, location, and/or customer.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) or diesel sales reporting software experience is a plus.
  • Heavy Construction Equipment or Industry knowledge (rental or construction) with experience in B2B in sales preferred, but not required.
  • Prior experience with Oracle preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Generate new customer accounts and service existing accounts.
  • Analyze customer needs and determine how company products and services can meet them.
  • Achieve sales goals and forecasts.
  • Assist in marketing and sales of new products and prototypes.
  • Review completed jobs for variations in component costing.
  • Interface with engineering, manufacturing, production, and purchasing departments to oversee project development and ensure timely delivery.
  • Monitor sales orders to ensure project costs, material lists, and delivery schedules meet specifications.
  • Compute installation or production costs and submit bid specifications.
  • Negotiate proposals and sales and service contracts.
  • Establish and maintain business relationships within the petroleum industry.
  • Plan and organize sales strategy.
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems, issues, or complaints.
  • Ensure strong market share of products and services.
  • Attend sales and trade meetings and read publications to stay informed on market conditions and industry developments.
  • Demonstrate and explain the use of installed equipment and production processes.
  • Arrange for installation and test-operation of machinery and recommend solutions to product-related problems.
  • Evaluate sales performance results.
  • Provide management with oral and written reports on customer needs, market situations, competitive activities, and potential for new products/services.
  • Conduct all business transactions in an ethical manner.
