About The Position

Rogers Machinery, founded in 1949, specializes in industrial compressed air systems, blowers, vacuum pumps, and positive displacement pumps. We have 8 branches in the Northwest with full sales, service, and parts capability as well locations in San Jose, CA, Atlanta, GA, Houston, TX, and Southern California. Our production facilities are in Portland, OR and Centralia, WA. This role provides customer care and project management on existing accounts, prospecting for new accounts, follow-up and closing orders. It is a technical position requiring an ability to learn, understand and competently communicate compressor features and benefits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years inside and/or outside sales experience of capital equipment.
  • Mechanical and electrical knowledge, experience and aptitude is necessary.
  • Ability to learn, understand and competently communicate compressor features and benefits is required.
  • Proven selling ability & PC skills are required.
  • Self-starter, works independently, likes to travel.
  • Excellent customer follow-up, attention to detail, organization and efficient time management skills are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience utilizing sales tools for lead generation.
  • Familiar with MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Identify research and secure new business opportunities, utilizing prospecting skills and community/business networking to quote projects, increase revenue and improve margins.
  • Follow the sales cycle from beginning to end including initial contact; client needs analysis, development of proposals and presentations, and obtaining purchase orders.
  • Develop sales strategy in concert with business plans, utilizing a strategic planning process that encompasses company, market, and industry trends to ensure coordination of efforts to achieve goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with engineer firms, distributors, mechanical contractors, and end users.
  • Make 4-6 sales calls a day and 3 cold calls a week.
  • Follow production of equipment sold to keep customers informed.
  • Interface daily with customers and co-workers, build customer relationships.
  • Sell parts and service to support equipment sales and service.
  • Research accounts, identify key players and generate interest.
  • Identify and coordinate industry related trade shows to increase company and brand awareness and prospect potential clients.
  • Maintain and expand your database of prospects.
  • Team with channel partners to build pipeline and close deals.
