About The Position

As an Outside Sales Account Manager, you will be responsible for selling MRO (maintenance, repair and operations) supplies and other products to an established portfolio of multi-family housing (apartment communities) customers to maintain and drive sales. This position offers a competitive base salary plus sales incentive bonus; a laptop/tablet, cell phone, and monthly expenses are included. The territory will be the Pontiac and Auburn Hills area, and the candidate must reside within the territory. The role requires driving a personal vehicle consistently more than 20% of the average work week, and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report is required.

Requirements

  • Must reside in the state(s) specified (Pontiac/Auburn Hills area).
  • 3 or more years of business to business (B2B) field sales experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Salesforce, or similar CRM.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals in a remote position.
  • Operation of a Personal Vehicle is required, and such operation is done consistently more than 20% of the average work week.
  • An acceptable MVR report is required.

  • Direct sales to Multi-family communities and facilities maintenance customers.
  • Direct sales to HD Supply facility customers and industry product.
  • Large volume of product lines experience.
  • Organizational skills and knowledge of handheld technology.
  • Knowledge of facilities products such as hardware, electrical, lighting, and more.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Experience with consultative selling/solution selling preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains strong sales relationships with key decision makers and influencers across all levels of an organization, ensuring long-term sustainability.
  • Manages sales volume with existing customers, while actively prospecting and acquiring new customers to expand and diversify the customer base.
  • Develops and implements plans to expand business presence in the assigned area.
  • Shares market insights and competitor information with relevant channels throughout the organization, fostering strong relationships and collaborative partnerships.
  • Collaborates with leadership to analyze market trends and customer needs, providing valuable input for the development of effective sales strategies and initiatives.
  • Attends monthly business meetings for all company-sponsored associations, engages in local trade shows, and represents the organization in regional or national activities as necessary.
  • Drives profitable sales growth by prospecting new accounts, retaining existing accounts, and expanding opportunities with current customers in core and emerging industries and markets to meet yearly sales goals.
