Wohali Golf Course located in Coalville, Utah is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Full-Time Outside Operations Manager! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management. The Outside Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the golf club’s outside operations team and ensuring an exceptional experience for members and guests from the moment they arrive at the club through their departure. This position oversees arrival gate coordination, valet, bag service, golf cart operations, practice facility services, player services, tournament support, and seasonal winter operations. The Outside Operations Manager leads by example and ensures that all team members consistently deliver the high level of service expected at the club. During the winter season, when the golf course is closed, this position will transition to supporting property maintenance, snow removal, equipment care, and other seasonal club operations. The ideal candidate is an energetic, professional, service-oriented leader with a passion for golf and hospitality who takes pride in creating a welcoming, organized, and well-maintained environment for members and guests year-round.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in golf operations, outside services, valet, hospitality, property maintenance, or a related service environment preferred.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.

  • Ability to safely operate or learn to operate snow removal and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move golf bags, equipment, supplies, and other materials as required.
  • This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, and physical activity.
  • The employee must be able to work outdoors for extended periods in hot, cold, snowy, and changing weather conditions.
  • The position may require lifting and carrying golf bags, equipment, supplies, and materials, as well as operating golf carts, vehicles, snow removal equipment, and other maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all daily outside operations, including bag service, golf cart operations, practice facilities, player services, and cart staging.
  • Ensure golf carts are clean, fueled/charged, properly staged, and readily available for members and guests.
  • Ensure golf bags are properly handled, organized, staged, and delivered to the appropriate carts or storage areas.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional bag drop, cart staging, practice facility, and outside-operation areas.
  • Coordinate with the Golf Professional staff regarding daily tee sheets, tournaments, outings, and special events.
  • Assist with tournament setup, cart staging, bag handling, signage, and other event-related responsibilities.
  • Monitor pace of play and assist with player flow when necessary.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the golf operation and actively assist the team during busy periods.
  • Coordinate closely with the arrival gate team to ensure a seamless and welcoming experience for members, guests, and visitors.
  • Maintain clear communication between the arrival gate, valet, bag drop, golf operations, and clubhouse teams regarding expected arrivals, guest names, tournaments, events, and special requests.
  • Ensure the valet team is prepared for scheduled member and guest arrivals and special events.
  • Assist with managing vehicle flow and traffic patterns during peak arrival and departure periods.
  • Communicate VIP, tournament, event, and special-arrival information to the appropriate team members while maintaining discretion and professionalism.
  • Ensure members and guests are greeted promptly and provided with courteous, professional service upon arrival.
  • Coordinate with the arrival gate regarding guest arrivals, deliveries, vendors, and other authorized vehicles as appropriate.
  • Work with the arrival gate team to address arrival-related questions or member concerns quickly and professionally.
  • Maintain a consistent standard of hospitality from the arrival gate through valet, bag drop, and golf services.
  • Ensure guest vehicles are handled safely, efficiently, and professionally.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate outside operations and valet staff.
  • Establish and maintain exceptional standards of hospitality and member service.
  • Monitor staffing levels and adjust assignments as necessary to meet club and member needs.
  • Conduct staff meetings and provide ongoing training in hospitality, valet procedures, golf operations, safety, and club standards.
  • Lead by example and foster a positive, professional, team-oriented work environment.
  • Hold staff accountable for maintaining club standards, appearance, cleanliness, and service expectations.
  • Maintain appropriate procedures for vehicle keys, guest vehicles, golf carts, bags, and other club property.
  • Ensure all valet and outside operations staff follow safety procedures and club policies.
  • Monitor the condition and cleanliness of golf carts, staging areas, bag storage, practice facilities, and other outside-operation equipment.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory of outside-operation supplies and communicate purchasing needs to management.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team regarding golf carts, cart paths, practice areas, grounds, and course access.
  • Address member and guest questions, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures for outside operations and valet services.
  • Maintain accurate records related to staffing, equipment, carts, vehicles, and daily operations.
  • Understand that the golf course will be closed during the winter season, and responsibilities will transition to winter operations, maintenance, and snow removal as directed by management.
  • Remain actively engaged in club operations during the off-season and assist with property maintenance and winter operations.
  • Assist the maintenance team with snow removal, including clearing walkways, entrances, parking areas, cart paths, and other designated areas of the property.
  • Operate and assist with snow removal equipment and other maintenance equipment as trained and authorized.
  • Assist with seasonal property projects, general grounds maintenance, equipment care, cleaning, organization, and facility preparation.
  • Assist with winterization, seasonal setup, and preparation of golf carts, outside-operation equipment, and facilities.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and well-presented property throughout the winter season.
  • Support the maintenance and facilities teams with additional projects and responsibilities as needed.
  • Be prepared to work outdoors in cold, snowy, and changing weather conditions.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule during winter weather events, including early mornings, weekends, or extended hours when snow removal or property conditions require immediate attention.
  • Perform other seasonal maintenance and operational duties as assigned by management.
