About The Position

The Outside Operations Manager – DFW-West is a hands-on operational leader responsible for the safe, skilled, and profitable execution of all services provided at the DFW-West location. This position requires full proficiency in overseeing field operations, equipment utilization and maintenance, workforce management, and service delivery across all service lines. The Outside Operations Manager maintains complete ownership of commercial key account fulfillment and ensures strict adherence to all documentation, safety, quality, and service standards. As the primary operational leader for the DFW-West location, this role is responsible for ensuring every project, service call, and customer engagement is executed to the highest standards of safety, efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction while driving operational excellence and profitability.

Requirements

  • Expert-level operation and maintenance of all equipment and trucks; zero tolerance for unsafe equipment use.
  • Ability to build accountability and performance standards across drivers and field staff through clear expectations and daily coaching.
  • Meticulous, timely, and accurate paperwork execution on every job.
  • Maintain yard integrity and equipment readiness as a daily non-negotiable standard.
  • Deep understanding of DOT, OSHA, and environmental compliance requirements for vacuum truck operations.
  • Ability to anticipate field issues, resolve in real time, and communicate transparently.
  • Ability to represent the company with integrity and composure on every commercial account site.
  • Hold self and team to the highest operational, safety, and service standards with consistent follow-through.
  • 5+ years of hands-on equipment and commercial truck operation required.
  • 10+ years in strong people management.
  • Working knowledge of DOT regulations, OSHA standards, and environmental compliance requirements for liquid waste and industrial vacuum services.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete accurate field documentation including manifests, crew sheets, and service tickets.
  • Familiarity with TCEQ waste disposal requirements and chain-of-custody protocols.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform routine maintenance and identify equipment issues.
  • Proficiency in scheduling and route management tools; basic Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and confined-space adjacent environments.
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • 130-barrel unit experience strongly preferred.
  • Preferred Class A or Class B CDL with tanker endorsement required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the safe, skilled, and profitable execution of all services at the DFW-West location.
  • Oversee field operations, equipment utilization and maintenance, workforce management, and service delivery.
  • Maintain ownership of commercial key account fulfillment and ensure adherence to documentation, safety, quality, and service standards.
  • Ensure every project, service call, and customer engagement is executed to the highest standards of safety, efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive operational excellence and profitability.
  • Manage fleet maintenance and equipment proficiency, ensuring the fleet is operational daily.
  • Oversee daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of all trucks in compliance with DOT and company fleet safety standards.
  • Maintain a working understanding of all vacuum truck mechanical systems.
  • Coordinate and execute routine and preventative maintenance tasks, tracking and reporting all service intervals, repairs, and equipment issues.
  • Ensure trucks are stocked with required PPE, safety equipment, spill containment supplies, and operational tools prior to dispatch.
  • Manage proper waste loading, weight compliance, and safe transport of vacuum-extracted materials.
  • Respond to equipment failures in the field with resourceful problem-solving.
  • Lead and manage all daily operational activities performed by the DFW-West team.
  • Plan, track, and allocate resources to maximize team productivity and ensure jobs are prioritized, completed on time, and in budget.
  • Monitor service schedules and assign tasks to align with customer deadlines and internal efficiency goals.
  • Evaluate individual employee performance and provide coaching and corrective action.
  • Act as the primary branch-level decision-maker for field operations.
  • Collaborate with Construction Site and Industrial Site Services GM on a daily basis.
  • Maintain yard integrity, including organization, cleanliness, and proper storage of equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly staged, stocked, fueled, and ready for next-day dispatch.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts of yard consumables and supplies and communicate reorder needs.
  • Assist with loading and staging of equipment for other service lines as needed.
  • Ensure all yard safety signage, spill kits, and containment equipment are current and accessible.
  • Participate in weekly yard safety walks and contribute to safety and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Aid in the completion of all field paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Ensure 100% accuracy and timely submission of all key account billing documentation.
  • Maintain up-to-date waste disposal manifests and chain-of-custody paperwork in compliance with TCEQ, EPA, and client-specific environmental requirements.
  • Track and log all preventative maintenance activities, roadside inspections, and vehicle safety checks.
  • Submit all required documentation to the Executive Administrative Office Manager by end of day.
  • Ensure all required operator certifications, licenses, and training records are current and available for inspection.
