About The Position

The Outreach Volunteer will assist with the supervision and safety of children during program activities. This role involves attending trainings, reporting to shifts on time, finding substitutes when necessary, and ensuring the safe arrival and departure of children. The volunteer will also be responsible for maintaining a clean program area, reporting any incidents to the Program Director, and adhering to YMCA rules and policies. Additionally, the volunteer will communicate program updates to staff, members, and parents.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain a criminal record clearance, if over 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Attend all necessary trainings and meetings.
• Report to shift on time.
• Find a sub from the approved list when possible and call within 24 hours (or as soon as you are aware of cancellations).
• Supervise safe arrival and departure of children.
• Clean up area before departure.
• Report any incidents to the Program Director.
• Learn and adhere to YMCA rules, policies, and procedures.
• Update staff, members, and parents about program/event/child process as needed.
