About The Position

The University of Miami/UHealth department of Neurology (Aging Like A Pro) has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Outreach Specialist 3 to work Hybrid at the UHealth Medical Campus. The Outreach Specialist 3 supports in developing and implementing new and existing public education and outreach programs, serving as a liaison to the community. The incumbent performs a wide variety of duties and demonstrates a high level of professionalism and effectiveness. Moreover, the incumbent utilizes project management skills to organize community outreach activities. The Outreach Specialist 3 serves as a lead when the Director is unavailable. The Aging Like A Pro (ALP) Outreach Specialist 3 supports in developing and implementing new and existing ALP healthy aging community outreach programs, serving as a liaison to existing and new partners in Miami, Ft Lauderdale, LA, Boston and other developed markets. The incumbent performs a wide variety of duties and demonstrates a high level of professionalism and effectiveness. Moreover, the incumbent utilizes project management skills to organize community outreach activities. The ALP Outreach Specialist 3 serves as the lead when the Director is unavailable. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required
  • Learning Agility: Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols, and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
  • Communication: Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Supports in the development and implementation of public education and outreach programs.
  • Works with community-based organizations to plan promotional educational and other events targeted towards designing an increased awareness in the community.
  • Assists in publishing activities: writing, editing, budgeting, scheduling, and distribution.
  • Interacts effectively with outside advertising agencies, printers, photographers, and other vendors.
  • Aids with the preparation and distribution of public health education and navigation manuals.
  • Identifies effective strategies for promoting enrollment in ongoing studies, conducting active and passive recruitment, in-person, and online outreach.
  • Conducts brief surveys by phone and in community settings.
  • Aids with compiling data for presentations.
  • Develops professional relationships with mental health providers, researchers, and community members.
  • Collaborates with other members of the team on special projects and events.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
  • Supports in the development and implementation of the Aging Like A Pro (ALP) outreach programs.
  • Works with existing community-based organizations to plan ALP programs.
  • Develops and reach out to new partners to pitch Age Like A Pro Program (ALP)
  • Develop social media, and flyers to increase community awareness.
  • Manage existing network and database of community contacts, agencies and services.
  • Develop creative strategies to effectively communicate awareness of outreach programs.
  • Responds to public inquiries about program(s).
  • Support presenters to carry out an effective ALP outreach program
  • Distributes educational literature and materials at each program.
  • Collects and tabulate all questionnaires distributed at each program
  • Maintains ALP database
  • Maintains effective lines of communications with current and prospective clients to ensure program goals and objectives are met.
