About The Position

The University of Miami/UHealth department of Neurology(Aging Like A Pro) has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Outreach Specialist 3 to work Hybrid at the UHealth Medical Campus. The Outreach Specialist 3 supports in developing and implementing new and existing public education and outreach programs, serving as a liaison to the community. The incumbent performs a wide variety of duties and demonstrates a high level of professionalism and effectiveness. Moreover, the incumbent utilizes project management skills to organize community outreach activities. The Outreach Specialist 3 serves as a lead when the Director is unavailable. The Aging Like A Pro (ALP) Outreach Specialist 3 supports in developing and implementing new and existing ALP healthy aging community outreach programs, serving as a liaison to existing and new partners in Miami, Ft Lauderdale, LA, Boston and other developed markets. The incumbent performs a wide variety of duties and demonstrates a high level of professionalism and effectiveness. Moreover, the incumbent utilizes project management skills to organize community outreach activities. The ALP Outreach Specialist 3 serves as the lead when the Director is unavailable.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required

Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.

Responsibilities

Supports in the development and implementation of public education and outreach programs.
Works with community-based organizations to plan promotional educational and other events targeted towards designing an increased awareness in the community.
Assists in publishing activities: writing, editing, budgeting, scheduling, and distribution.
Interacts effectively with outside advertising agencies, printers, photographers, and other vendors.
Aids with the preparation and distribution of public health education and navigation manuals.
Identifies effective strategies for promoting enrollment in ongoing studies, conducting active and passive recruitment, in-person, and online outreach.
Conducts brief surveys by phone and in community settings.
Aids with compiling data for presentations.
Develops professional relationships with mental health providers, researchers, and community members.
Collaborates with other members of the team on special projects and events.
Supports in the development and implementation of the Aging Like A Pro (ALP) outreach programs.
Works with existing community-based organizations to plan ALP programs.
Develops and reaches out to new partners to pitch Age Like A Pro Program (ALP).
Develops social media, and flyers to increase community awareness.
Manages existing network and database of community contacts, agencies and services.
Develops creative strategies to effectively communicate awareness of outreach programs.
Responds to public inquiries about program(s).
Supports presenters to carry out an effective ALP outreach program.
Distributes educational literature and materials at each program.
Collects and tabulates all questionnaires distributed at each program.
Maintains ALP database.
Maintains effective lines of communications with current and prospective clients to ensure program goals and objectives are met.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
