Outreach Program Associate - Tuckahoe Region
About The Position
The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking an enthusiastic, passionate professional to serve as an Outreach Program Associate in its community-centered Enriching Learning programming. The YMCA centers its strategy on Achievement, Relationship, and Belonging, which it identifies as measurable experiences that predict thriving. The Outreach Program Associate works closely with the Regional Director of Community Outreach to facilitate community-centered programming. The position is part time, up to 10 hours per week, with a pay range of $23–$26 per hour. Some evening and weekend work is required, and the role requires travel to and between branch and event locations.
Requirements
- At least one year of related experience.
- Self-motivated and organized.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
- Willingness to travel to and between branch locations and event locations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
- May be required to lift up to 25 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in English as a Second Language programming, particularly with an emphasis on education.
- Multilingual abilities.
- Experience with computers.
- Customer service experience.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain positive, authentic relationships with program participants, community members, staff, and community partners.
- Ensure programming logistics are appropriately prepared.
- Help create safe and productive learning environments.
- Communicate with parents and caregivers of youth involved in programs.
- Train and supervise volunteers during programming.
- Work on projects with varying programming and reporting requirements.
