About The Position

The Outreach Coordinator leads community engagement efforts and delivers education and outreach programs focused on waste reduction and recycling. The role engages businesses, schools, multi-family residences, residents, and community-event attendees to promote sustainable practices and environmental stewardship. The position is in-person for the first 6–12 months while training and is full-time at 40 hours per week, with occasional evenings and weekends.

Requirements

Passion for environmental sustainability and local recycling initiatives.
Strong communication and presentation skills, including experience speaking to both large and small groups.
Ability to manage multiple projects independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
Organized, flexible, and self-motivated, with strong problem-solving abilities.
Experience managing projects from start to finish with minimal supervision.
At least 5 years of experience in sustainability, specifically in the waste industry.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver outreach programs on recycling, food waste, and waste reduction.
Engage with local businesses, schools, and residents to promote sustainable practices.
Represent the company at community events and public forums.
Create educational materials and presentations tailored to diverse audiences.
Track and report outreach metrics and program effectiveness.
