The Center for Caregiver Advancement (CCA) is dedicated to building a workforce of highly trained caregivers. For over two decades, CCA has been a leader in equity-driven quality training and job creation for caregivers in California. As one of the largest providers of training for long-term caregivers, CCA has trained over 70,000 home care and nursing home caregivers. CCA is a pioneer in home care training and has demonstrated the positive impact of evidence-informed training on both the workforce and the seniors and individuals with disabilities they serve. The organization's curriculum is licensed in four other states. CCA recognizes that training is a crucial component of the long-term care system and has observed that training leads to higher retention rates and improved care quality by equipping caregivers with the necessary knowledge and confidence. The majority of caregivers are immigrant women of color from under-invested communities, and CCA provides training in six languages to meet them where they are. CCA develops programs for both IHSS home care workers and Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) workers, maintaining a strong partnership with SEIU Local 2015, the union representing these workers in California. The Labor Management Training Partnership for nursing home workers is a collaborative effort between skilled nursing facility employers and SEIU Local 2015, aimed at benefiting the workforce and enhancing the quality of care through courses, certifications, and apprenticeship programs.
