About The Position

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is seeking an enthusiastic Outreach Coordinator to educate the public about wildlife and conservation. This role focuses on connecting communities with the outdoors and fostering interest in hunting and habitat protection. The Outreach Coordinator will support the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s mission by planning, delivering, and evaluating outreach initiatives that enhance public understanding, trust, and participation in wildlife and habitat management, as well as hunting and trapping. This position is part of a team dedicated to protecting wildlife across the state.

Requirements

  • Two years of professional experience in the development and implementation of conservation education programs.
  • A bachelor’s degree with coursework in wildlife management, journalism, communications, or a closely related field, OR an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions.
  • Must be able to provide information to support eligibility on the application, including detailed experience and education.
  • If claiming education, must attach a copy of college transcripts (unofficial accepted).

Nice To Haves

  • Possess a current Class C driver's license which is not under suspension.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and organize major outreach events, including managing logistics such as venues, materials, and permits.
  • Represent the agency at public events, providing accurate information to visitors and partners.
  • Maintain working relationships with schools and community groups, and guide regional outreach practices.
  • Present educational programs focused on conservation goals and aligned with agency messaging.
  • Assist in creating audience-friendly digital content and coordinate with communications staff on key campaigns.
  • Collect feedback, review basic metrics, and recommend improvements for outreach activities.
