About The Position

The University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM), one of twenty campuses of the University of Arkansas System, is located in southeastern Arkansas in the beautiful timberlands, rich in outdoor recreation activities, and approximately 100 miles south of Little Rock. UAM is a comprehensive, residential and commuter, undergraduate institution also offering selected master’s degree programs. The successful candidate will be expected to organize and coordinate current-student, future-student, and alumni activities for the College of Forestry, Agriculture and Natural Resources. This includes student-oriented events such as competitions, field days, and educational programs; recruitment- and retention-related activities; and alumni events and affairs. Additionally, maintenance of contact databases, out-of-town, overnight travel, and participation in other related activities in support of the College are required. The successful candidate will also assist with the College’s fundraising and capacity-building efforts.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in a discipline related to the College of Forestry, Agriculture and Natural Resources.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent social media skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and positively interact with a diverse audience.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Hearing.
  • Manipulate items with fingers, including keyboarding.

  • Sitting.
  • Standing.
  • Ability to drive.

  • Experience in youth and environmental education programs is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and coordinate current-student, future-student, and alumni activities for the College of Forestry, Agriculture and Natural Resources.
  • Plan and execute student-oriented events such as competitions, field days, and educational programs.
  • Manage recruitment and retention-related activities.
  • Organize alumni events and affairs.
  • Maintain contact databases.
  • Undertake out-of-town, overnight travel as required.
  • Participate in other related activities in support of the College.
  • Assist with the College’s fundraising and capacity-building efforts.
  • Engage with youth for recruiting (25%).
  • Engage with Natural Resources and Agricultural stakeholders to aid in recruiting and capacity-building (25%).
  • Engage with current students to foster retention (25%).
  • Engage with CFANR alumni to aid with recruiting (25%).
