About The Position

The Ridge Behavioral Health System, a 110-bed psychiatric hospital in Lexington, KY, is expanding its services and seeking a Full Time, Day Shift Outpatient Therapist. As the only free-standing psychiatric hospital in Central Kentucky, The Ridge provides comprehensive psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment for children, adolescents, and adults. Services include Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient Programs, Individual Counseling, and Medication Management. The Ridge has served over 92 Kentucky counties for more than 39 years and is part of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), a Fortune 500 corporation and one of the nation's largest healthcare providers with 94,000 employees.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work or other mental health field required.
  • Certification or licensure in social work or mental health field required, e.g., LCSW, LPCC, LMFT, etc.
  • Crisis intervention training is required and is offered upon hire.
  • CPR is required and offered upon hire.
  • One to two years of mental health experience required.
  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • Skills in case management.
  • Skills in time management.
  • Knowledge of acute psychological disorders, and advanced principals of abnormal psychology.
  • Familiarity with follow-up resource services available to patients.
  • Skills in conducting individual and family sessions.
  • Skills in maintaining information as highly confidential.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to treat all age populations as needed or have the capacity to develop skills through the organization’s cross-training, orientation program.
  • Ability to clearly summarize pertinent clinical information via written correspondence and medical records documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic group and family treatment to patients with mental and substance abuse diagnosis.
  • Coordinate treatment through treatment planning, the treatment team process, and utilization and review.
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments.
  • Assess, develop, and implement groups to enhance treatment of patients.
  • Assisting inpatient and outpatient programs when school is not in session.
