About The Position

The Outpatient Therapist is responsible for providing counseling services to patients in outpatient programming. The Outpatient Therapist will provide group counseling to patients of all ages using clinically appropriate modalities such as cognitive behavioral and solution-focused therapy. The Therapist will provide psycho education group experiences including coping skills, goal setting, healthy leisure activities, etc. The OP Therapist will be responsible for completing intake assessments, must have the ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families, and provide appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors. The OP Therapist should be familiar with and demonstrate consistent compliance with CMS and JCAHO requirements for clinical documentation.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in the Behavioral Health Field (e.g. Counseling, Social Work, Psychology) required
  • LMSW, LPC-MHSP, or LCSW strongly preferred
  • Current HWC and CPR certifications (training provided)
  • Experience in providing individual and group counseling in a psychiatric treatment setting
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and tact
  • Ability to interact effectively with persons of widely diverse roles, backgrounds, cultures, and socio-economic classes, those in crisis or resistant or negative toward organization
  • Effective oral and written skills
  • Basic data entry skills
  • Organizational, time management, problem solving, crisis management skills necessary
  • Flexibility, creativity, and ability to manage stress necessary

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with trauma and substance abuse strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Providing counseling services to patients in outpatient programming.
