About The Position

We are the behavioral health community organization responsible for the delivery of mental health, substance abuse treatment coordination, and developmental disabilities services for Kent County. We need individuals who are passionate about making a difference by helping others. We are seeking an Outpatient Therapist - Youth & Family Focus to provide ongoing and developmentally appropriate, evidence based, trauma- and recovery-focused outpatient therapy to clients of Network180’s Outpatient Clinic(s).

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or Counseling Psychology.
  • Licensure in the State of Michigan as a limited licensed master social worker, marriage and family therapist, OR be eligible for a limited license as stated above and obtain that licensure within one (1) month of hire.
  • Specialized training and at least one year of experience in the examination, evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of minors and their families.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job related use.
  • Thorough working knowledge of the practices and principles of psychological, emotional, and sociological assessment and diagnosis.
  • Thorough working knowledge of professional ethics and standards of practice.
  • Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, database management, and data entry skills.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating clearly and concisely in stressful situations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and skills and capabilities of bridging language/cultural barriers to Network180 services within diverse communities.

Nice To Haves

  • Fully licensed MSW, Professional Counselor, Psychologist, or Marriage and Family Therapist.
  • Training in and experience with providing Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
  • CAADC certification through the Michigan Certificate Board for Addiction Professionals or able to obtain a development plan for the credential.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed theories, principles, and practices (includes multi-faceted understanding of concepts such as community trauma, intergenerational and historical trauma, parallel processes, and universal precautions).
  • Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing and developmentally appropriate, evidence based, trauma- and recovery-focused outpatient therapy to clients of Network180’s Outpatient Clinic(s).
