About The Position

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center's mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient’s involvement in his/her own plan of care and reducing the length of hospitalization. The nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost-effective care. The nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating, and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model. The non-oncology infusion unit at Outpatient Care New Albany is a 12-chair unit that specializes in administering supportive infusions and injections to patients across the enterprise. The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 am - 4:30 pm. This is a fast-paced, high-volume unit with great teamwork, staff engagement, and patient experience.

Requirements

• Degree in Nursing from a CCNE or ACEN accredited nursing program
• Current Ohio license or interim permit

Responsibilities

• Managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family
• Directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team
• Assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model
• Administering supportive infusions and injections
• Working at multiple locations as a float position
• Working weekend shifts at the ACC weekend infusion clinics
• Floating to other non-oncology infusion clinics within the enterprise as needed
