About The Position

Join our dedicated Neurosurgery team at OhioHealth Riverside, where clinical expertise meets compassionate care. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting both patients and providers in a highly collaborative, patient-focused specialty clinic. As a key member of the Neurosurgery team, the RN plays a vital administrative and clinical support role, focusing primarily on phone triage, suture/staple removals in-office, patient education, coordination of care, rooming patients and documentation support through platforms such as MyChart. This position is ideal for nurses who enjoy patient interaction and problem-solving while working in a fast-paced outpatient specialty setting. The RN will occasionally assist with patient rooming if needed, but the core of this role is care coordination and communication. Successful candidates bring strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills, along with a compassionate and proactive approach to supporting both patients and the surgical care team. Inpatient nursing experience provides a strong foundation for success in this role, and nurses who thrive on teamwork and continuity of care will find this position both rewarding and meaningful. Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse health care settings. The RN is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing. The RN delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and unlicensed assistive personnel (UAPs) using the criteria written in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. According to department policies and nursing care standards, provides professional nursing care services to patients. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care provided to assigned patients.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree
  • BTLS - Basic Trauma Life Support - American Heart Association
  • CPR - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation - American Red Cross
  • RN - Registered Nurse - Ohio Board of Nursing

Responsibilities

  • Performs initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessment as applicable to the population and or individual.
  • Based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems, documents planned nursing interventions to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs.
  • Evaluates and documents response to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriately determined intervals; as part of a multidisciplinary team, revises plan of care based on evaluative data.
  • Actively participates in process improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
  • As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require focus on safety, quality and efficiency in performing job duties.
