Outpatient Psychiatrist
About The Position
Ellis Medicine is seeking a full-time Outpatient Psychiatrist to join their well-established and highly collaborative Behavioral Health team in Schenectady, New York. Ellis Psychiatry has been helping people overcome mental illness for more than 50 years and offers specialized services for adults, children, and adolescents. The adult outpatient clinic provides care in a supportive, collaborative, and collegial interdisciplinary environment focused on delivering high-quality mental health treatment to the Capital Region. The outpatient program offers a range of services, including integrated primary care, medication management, individual and group therapy, personalized recovery-oriented services (PROS), and crisis diversion services for adults, children, and their families.
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
- Licensed (or eligible) to practice in New York State
- Experience treating an adult psychiatric patient population
- Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong commitment to collaborative, team-based, patient-centered care
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and treatment for adults presenting with a broad range of mental health conditions, including: Mood disorders, Psychotic disorders, Anxiety disorders, Trauma- and stress-related disorders, Personality disorders, Dual-diagnosis conditions.
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, treatment planning, and medication management.
- Provide individual psychotherapy and/or lead psychotherapy groups for physicians with an interest in these services.
- Participate in a shared call schedule (compensated).
