About The Position

Prairie Ridge Integrated Behavioral Healthcare is seeking a psychiatrist to provide outpatient psychiatric care for adults navigating mental health and substance use challenges. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including other psychiatrists, physicians, therapists, nurse practitioners, and support staff. The position is primarily weekday outpatient with no evening, weekend, or on-call responsibilities, offering a chance to make a meaningful impact in northcentral Iowa.

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. with board certification or board eligibility in Psychiatry
• Iowa medical licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
• Valid DEA registration and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
• Confidence using telemedicine platforms
• A deep, genuine commitment to serving individuals with dignity, respect, and a belief in their potential

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans, including psychopharmacologic interventions.
• Provide ongoing medication management for outpatient and residential substance use patients, monitoring effectiveness and side effects.
• Offer psychoeducation to patients and families about their conditions, options, and available resources.
• Serve as a bridge between medical and behavioral health staff using evidence-based trauma-informed care.
• Consult with colleagues, case coordinators, and community partners.
• Contribute expertise to telemedicine policy and best practices.
• Participate in clinical consultation and other collaborative activities to support patient care.
• Maintain complete, accurate records in accordance with professional standards.
• Uphold all HIPAA and 42 CFR regulations governing patient confidentiality.
