About The Position

Prairie Ridge Integrated Behavioral Healthcare is seeking an Outpatient Psychiatrist to provide care for adults facing mental health and substance use challenges. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including other psychiatrists, physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, and support staff. The position is primarily weekday outpatient with no evening, weekend, or on-call duties. Prairie Ridge is a non-profit Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic serving northcentral Iowa, offering a continuum of services including outpatient psychiatry, counseling, substance use treatment, and outreach clinics.

Requirements

M.D. or D.O. with board certification or board eligibility in Psychiatry
Iowa medical licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
Valid DEA registration and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
Confidence using telemedicine platforms to extend care to rural and satellite locations
A deep, genuine commitment to serving individuals with dignity, respect, and a belief in their potential

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
Provide psychopharmacologic interventions where appropriate.
Provide ongoing medication management for outpatient and residential substance use patients.
Offer psychoeducation to patients and families.
Serve as a bridge between medical and behavioral health staff using evidence-based trauma-informed care.
Consult with colleagues, case coordinators, and community partners.
Contribute expertise to telemedicine policy and best practices.
Participate in clinical consultation and other collaborative activities.
Maintain complete, accurate records in accordance with professional standards.
Uphold all HIPAA and 42 CFR regulations governing patient confidentiality.
