About The Position

A premier health organization in Ithaca, NY is looking for a licensed Physical Therapist to join a supportive outpatient clinic focused on orthopedic and general rehabilitation. You'll manage patients through their full recovery journey — from initial evaluation to discharge — in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. This is a direct-hire role with a team that invests in your professional growth long-term.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree from an accredited program
  • Valid PT license in New York, or eligibility to obtain licensure at time of hire
  • BLS certification required within 90 days of hire
  • Prior outpatient physical therapy experience preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration with patients, families, and care team members
  • Solid organizational and time-management ability
  • Demonstrated ability to treat a diverse caseload including orthopedic, neurological, and musculoskeletal conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs independently and up to 150 lbs with assistance
  • Frequent standing, walking, and patient movement throughout the shift

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial evaluations and build individualized treatment plans for each patient
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/ice therapy
  • Educate patients on home exercise programs, posture correction, and injury prevention to support long-term functional outcomes
  • Monitor progress and adjust plans to keep patients on track with their rehabilitation goals
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care
  • Maintain accurate documentation — treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries — in compliance with departmental and industry standards
  • Uphold a clean, safe clinic environment in line with infection control and safety protocols
