Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Outpatient Phlebotomist Schedule Overview (Alternating Rotation) The position rotates between two patterns: Monday-Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (Friday-Sunday off) Monday-Wednesday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM; Saturday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Thursday-Friday & Sunday off) Work Locations Primary coverage will be at: Oakview Health Center Lab Village Pointe Health Center Lab Occasional coverage at Nebraska Medical Center as needed Ideal Candidate Profile We are seeking candidates who are: Looking for full-time, long-term employment (student schedules not preferred) Completed a phlebotomy program with hands-on clinical rotation OR have at least 1 year of experience drawing blood in a hospital or outpatient clinical setting Why Work at Nebraska Medicine? Requirements

  • Minimum of 18 years of age required.
  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills required.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and flexibility required.
  • Computer experience required.
  • Attention to detail required.
  • Ability to multitask required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct patient care experience or completion of a phlebotomy course or phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification PBT (ASCP) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for collection and transportation of patient specimens for clinical laboratory testing adhering to department identification policies.
  • Perform, evaluate, and report patient specimens using point-of-care instrumentation.
  • Demonstrate behavioral skills that contribute to a productive work environment, represent the lab in a professional manner, and provide excellent customer service.
  • May process and distribute patient specimen for clinical laboratory testing.
