About The Position

The Outpatient Pharmacy Coordinator is the pharmacist-in-charge and managing pharmacist per the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board who oversees daily operations and successful performance in the assigned location. The pharmacist performs a combination of clinical and distributive pharmacy services necessary for the provision of pharmaceutical care to each patient. To accomplish this objective, the pharmacist-in-charge shall provide supervision and guidance to pharmacy team members in the assigned location. The pharmacist will participate in handling on-call responsibilities, including the management of sick calls. The pharmacist shall collaborate with other members of the health care team to proactively identify and address opportunities to optimize drug therapy. In conjunction with the Froedtert mission focusing on customer safety, service, confidentiality, education, and world class excellence; the pharmacist assures that patient care is maintained through compliance with the department's quality improvement initiatives and other medication management regulatory standards established by The Joint Commission, Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services, URAC, and others. The pharmacist maintains accountability for other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A minimum of one year of retail pharmacy experience is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an ACPE certified school of pharmacy or a Pharm. D. is required.
  • Demonstrates effective use of computers and applications (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Outlook) as appropriate to practice and communicate effectively.
  • Exemplifies strong organizational, time management, leadership, conflict management, and change management skills.
  • Active Wisconsin Pharmacist License is required or eligible for and must obtain within 3 months.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of three years of other pharmacy experience is preferred.
  • Successful completion of ASHP Community Pharmacy Practice or Specialty Residency is preferred.
  • Active membership in the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin (PSW) preferred.
  • Active membership in the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP), American Pharmacist Association (APhA) and/or other relevant national pharmacy organizations is preferred.
