About The Position

Provides pharmaceuticals and drug information as needed for adequate patient care according to professional standards and practices. This role involves compounding pharmaceutical preparations, labeling and packaging medications, assisting with IV preparation, advising patients and medical staff on medication use, managing controlled substances, monitoring drug therapy, providing clinical pharmacy services, and administering immunizations. The position also requires understanding of growth and development across patient age groups, providing age-specific care, and demonstrating a commitment to safety and quality standards. The pharmacist is expected to maintain professional growth, provide outstanding customer service, foster teamwork, and practice fiscal responsibility.

Requirements

Bachelors Degree Pharmacy
Less than 1 year Relevant experience.
Licensed Registered Pharmacist Upon Hire
Authorization to Administer Injectables for Pharmacist Upon Hire
Basic Life Support Upon Hire
Completion of degree program from accredited school of pharmacy. Upon Hire

Responsibilities

Compounds pharmaceutical preparations and/or labels and packages medications and pharmaceuticals.
Assists with and/or supervises IV preparation and/or delivery.
Advises patients and medical/nursing staff on use of various medications including dosage, side effects, composition, drug-to-drug interactions, drug-to-allergy interactions and drug-to-food interactions.
Ensures proper controls and records of narcotics and other controlled substances as required by state and federal law.
Monitors drug therapy to identify, prevent or resolve actual or potential drug therapy problems.
Addresses problems with physicians and/or nurses when indicated.
Provides clinical pharmacy services as needed.
Administers immunizations, reviews patient profiles for immunization qualification and makes that recommendation to the patient.
Assists with and/or supervises personal care/long term care medication delivery.
Assists in preparing required reports by compiling information.
