Under the supervision of the Outpatient Pharmacy Administrative Director and/or Pharmacy Manager, and according to department policies, and procedures, and guidelines, is responsible for the compounding and dispensing of prescribed pharmaceuticals. Responsible for checking all medication prior to dispensing and deliveries. This role involves preparing or supervising the preparation of medication, verifying patient information, compounding and labeling prescriptions, performing quality checks, and providing consultations to customers. The Outpatient Pharmacist also dispenses medical and surgical products, records prescriptions, performs order entry, and supervises pharmacy staff. Additionally, this position requires contacting physicians and benefits providers, completing insurance forms, maintaining a professional and confidential environment, and complying with all legal and regulatory requirements. Drug education and counseling for patients, as well as in-service education for healthcare professionals, are also key responsibilities. The role emphasizes continuous professional development through continued education and participation in meetings.
