About The Position

This part-time role involves diagnosing, evaluating, and treating patients with a wide variety of communication and swallowing disorders. The position requires providing appropriate care based on patient age, adhering to the scope and standards of practice. Requirements

  • Master's degree in speech-language pathology.
  • One (1) to two (2) years as a clinical speech language pathologist in a large medical center based practice preferred.
  • Experience working with children and/or adults depending on the assigned setting.
  • Clinical experience with a variety of diagnoses to include post-surgical, developmental, neurological, genetic, oncologic and traumatic.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech-language pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech, Language, Hearing Association (includes nine months of supervised internship and a qualifying national examination).
  • CT license.
  • Continuing educational units.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Excellent communication (aural/oral/writing) skills.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates patient's communication or swallowing function within the scope and standards of practice, keeping service excellence as a main priority.
  • Establishes and conducts a treatment program and keeps timely documentation that is in line with departmental, hospital and regulatory standards.
  • Communicates evaluation results and progress in therapy.
  • Participates in departmental and hospital performance improvement activities.
  • Provides care appropriate to the age of the patients served, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development principles and the ability to assess patient status.
