The Outpatient Oncology Dietitian will assess and monitor the nutritional status of patients/clients, adjusting nutritional care as indicated. This role involves providing medical nutrition therapy (MNT)/counseling, including assessment, education, and implementation of MNT for patients in assigned areas. The dietitian will complete consults and referrals, communicate with physicians and nurses to coordinate nutrition into the total patient care plan, and maintain thorough and timely documentation of all aspects of nutritional care. Additionally, the position involves providing and assessing patient/family education, developing and utilizing educational materials, and teaching/disseminating nutrition research findings. The role also includes participating in in-services, mentoring team members and dietetic interns, and communicating with multidisciplinary departments to ensure excellence in customer satisfaction.
