About The Position

BAYADA Home Health Care is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) for full-time, part-time, or PRN opportunities. This role involves performing outpatient visits for adult and geriatric patients in senior living communities throughout Mclean, VA. As an integral member of a multi-disciplinary health care team, the Occupational Therapist will provide rehabilitative care and skilled nursing, enabling clients to receive necessary medical care at home. Requirements

  • A current VA Occupational Therapist license
  • A minimum of one year of recent work experience as an Occupational Therapist
  • Graduation from an occupational therapy program accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the AMA and the AOTA, as indicated by school transcript or diploma
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and problem solving skills
  • Solid computer skills

Nice To Haves

  • Prior home care experience preferred
  • Prior experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform outpatient therapy evaluations in order to develop a plan of care for patients in designated senior living communities or in a group home setting for adults with intellectual disabilities
  • Professionally operate at top of licensure utilizing current research-based approaches to care in order to maximize functional independence for your clients
  • Work closely with your home health therapy partners to appropriately transition care from home health to outpatient services in order to achieve client centered goals in their living environment, allowing the right care, at the right time for each client
  • Educate the client, family and community caregivers on the care plans created for your clients in order to achieve a team approach to maximizing functional independence
  • Perform evaluations, treatments and proper discharge planning for your clients utilizing out outpatient EMR platform to deliver and document on your individualized treatment approaches to meet the needs of your clients
