About the Behavioral Health Urgent Care Program The Behavioral Health Urgent Care Clinic (BHUCC) is the first program of it's kind in the Kansas City area that provides the community immediate, same-day access to psychiatric medication for mental health and substance use needs. Through a multi-disciplinary approach, the BHUCC team provides care to clients every day of the week, including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the client's and community's needs.

Requirements

  • Available to work a full-time schedule, Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, (40-hour work week)
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Active Missouri license as a Registered Nurse (or the ability to practice as a RN in the state of Missouri).
  • Two (2) years of experience in a supervisory and management role is required.
  • Minimum of one (1) years of nursing experience in a mental health or substance use disorder setting.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus.
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as use of email.

Responsibilities

  • Assure consistent and high-quality service in Substance Use Disorder treatment facility.
  • Communicate and collaborate with an internal multi-disciplinary team to address various aspects of wellness and ensure positive communication regarding the coordination of client care.
  • Strategically use assessment information to make an appropriate clinical evaluation of client's current conditions in a timely manner. This includes (but not limited to) making appropriate referrals, consulting with physician, and/or educating the client as appropriate.
  • Educate client and families on symptoms, medications and side effects.
  • Provide a welcoming approach towards all clients, visitors and guests from a trauma informed approach.
  • Collect and maintain information about clients and document interactions within ReDiscover’s designated electronic medical record.
