Children’s Home Society of South Dakota is seeking an Outpatient Therapist to provide high-quality mental health care to children and families who have experienced trauma within the Outpatient Therapy program in accordance with the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Values. Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
  • Current South Dakota license as a CSW, LPC, or LMFT licensure required.
  • Must be, or have the ability to be, certified as Adoption Competent.
  • QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional) certification or the ability to obtain is required.

Nice To Haves

  • South Dakota advanced licensure, including CSW-PIP, LPC-MH, or LMFT preferred.
  • Two years’ experience in children and/or family programs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assessments, screening, and other documentation during the evaluation phase of treatment for each client.
  • Support a typical caseload of 25 billable hours per week, or 100 per month, depending on Full or Part-Time status.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans, prepare treatment plan reviews, and discharge summaries with treatment team.
  • Consult with other service providers as needed.
  • Provide therapy to meet client needs.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure client’s needs are met appropriately.
  • Maintain positive working relationship with community resources and referral agencies.
  • Complete required reports and other documentation.
  • Assist in the development and facilitation of caregiver training as needed.
  • Actively participate in required trainings.
  • Maintain licensure requirements.
  • Assist in the development and facilitation of an annual training curriculum for caregivers.
  • Assist with development of program forms, as necessary.
  • Provide public education presentations, as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies, schools, and universities as applicable.
  • Compile monthly, quarterly and annual statistics and other data as requested.
  • Provide on-call support, as necessary.
