Outpatient Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Internal Medicine
About The Position
Inova Health – Internal Medicine is hiring a full-time, day-shift Outpatient Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The LPN provides direct patient care using the nursing process under the direction and supervision of an RN, and maintains and reviews patient records, notes, and physician orders while documenting care in accordance with documentation standards. The role also participates in unit teams, work groups, committees, and quality and performance improvement initiatives, and performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Vocational/technical diploma in Practical Nursing.
- Licensed Practical Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- No prior experience required.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience as an LPN or Medical Assistant.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process under the direction and supervision of the RN.
- Maintain and review patient medical records, notes, and physician orders.
- Document patient care activities in accordance with documentation standards.
- Participate on unit teams, work groups, and/or committees.
- Participate in quality and performance improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
