About The Position

Carilion Clinic is hiring Family Medicine physicians for outpatient practice opportunities in Blacksburg, Dublin, Floyd, and Radford in Virginia’s New River Valley. Practice hours are 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with a half-day off during the week. The position has no weekends and no weekend call.

Carilion New River Valley Medical Center is a regional healthcare facility offering diagnostic, medical, and surgical services in a patient-centered environment. It has a Level III Trauma Emergency Department and is home to Lifeguard 11, Carilion Clinic’s emergency air medical transport service. Carilion Clinic is a community-based integrated health system with seven hospitals, more than 295 physician practice locations, and 30 graduate medical education programs. Its network includes more than 860 multispecialty physicians across more than 85 specialties, supporting collaboration and access to specialty consultation. Physicians use the Epic electronic medical record system and work within an approach to primary care designed to support patient care and coordination across the continuum.

The New River Valley includes Blacksburg, Radford, Christiansburg, and surrounding communities, with a combined population of approximately 185,000. The region offers schools, outdoor recreation, and access to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Appalachian Trail, New River, and Claytor Lake. The stated salary range is $220,000–$320,000 annually; bonus compensation and the overall benefits and pension package may add to total compensation.
