About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a Registered Dietitian for a temporary outpatient position at Capital Health Family Health Center, supporting the HealthStart program in Trenton, NJ. Capital Health is a multi-site hospital system employing a large and dynamic team of dietitians in a variety of clinical settings. This position is expected to begin in July 2026 and last for approximately six months. No Weekends!

Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian credential
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (proficiency in Spanish a plus)
  • Excellent counseling skills
  • Time management and organizational abilities
  • The ability to be a self-starter and a team player
  • The ability to work well with physicians, nursing and ancillary staff
  • Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
  • For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24: Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
  • Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire.
  • In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire
  • Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice.
  • In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of general nutrition and maternity nutrition, especially gestational diabetes
  • Demonstrate competency in nutrition care planning for the maternal outpatient population, including gestational diabetes
  • Actively participate in multidisciplinary care team rounds, current work groups, area committees and community outreach events
  • Participate in performance improvement and/or outcome measurement initiatives
  • Mentor/coach Dietetic Interns, as assigned
