About The Position

The outpatient therapist is responsible for providing outpatient mental health therapy and related clinical services to individuals across the lifespan and their supports. Duties include conducting intake assessments, one-on-one therapy, and determining appropriate treatment options in consultation with the individual served, and other relevant behavioral health professionals.

Requirements

  • Advanced clinical licensure in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy or Professional Counseling is required (LCSW, LCPC, LP, LCMFT, or LP).
  • Licensure must be verified by first day of employment.
  • Maintain licensure by the Missouri Division of Professional Registration, and remain in good standing.
  • Confirmation of employee history and satisfactory job performance from at least two (2) professional references.
  • Demonstrated training in diagnosis and delivery of psychotherapy services, psychopathology, diagnostic criteria, theory-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Ability to provide and demonstrate culturally responsive services to individuals from similar or diverse cultures.
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency, including demonstrated ability to use work processing programs, and ability to learn use of electronic medical record.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive and accurate reports to the Department of Social Services in accordance with mandated guidelines and timelines.
  • Must successfully complete all required background checks.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred to better support individuals and families in their preferred language.
  • Understanding of services and resources available to veterans is preferred to support holistic and connected care planning.
  • Preferred experience in treating and supporting individuals living with substance use.

Responsibilities

  • Provide intake assessments and initial treatment planning.
  • Provide person-centered psychotherapy for individuals and families, across the lifespan, with a recovery focus designed to promote skills for coping and living with behavioral health symptoms.
  • Provide timely and accurate documentation (clinical notes, reports, and other professional products) which comply with the centers quality improvement standards and requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality per Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Coordinate and facilitate referrals to appropriate services in the community, including but not limited to behavioral health care and substance use services.
  • Be able to organize work to meet direct service expectations and center requirements.
  • Fully participates in staff development opportunities offered to enhance professional growth, especially to maintain license, certification, or identified program performance skills.
  • All services shall be delivered in a compassionate and professional manner with a trauma sensitive lens.
  • Participates in planned supervision and case consultation conferences.
  • Adapt to changing work priorities and a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
  • Work additional hours when needed to complete required work.
  • Provide minimum of 1 appointment hour, per week, after 5pm.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
