About The Position

Responsible for the provision of assessment and therapy services to children and young adult clients 3-25 years of age and their families addressing behavioral and mental health symptoms. Special skills and expertise related to working with child/adolescent and young adults with severe emotional disturbance is required.

Requirements

  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
  • PLPC and under supervision may be reviewed and accepted under approved situations.
  • LMSW and under supervision may be reviewed and accepted under approved situations.
  • At least two (2) years of counseling experience with children/youth with Serious Emotional Disturbances (SED).
  • Working knowledge of the most current DSM and the ability to assess mental health
  • Knowledgeable regarding trauma informed care.
  • Proficient communication and organizational skills.
  • Capability to perform as part of a cross-functional team of professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Perform psychosocial assessments to determine appropriate service
  • Completion and timely submission of accurate clinical documentation that includes, but not limited to the Psychosocial Treatment Plan, Progress Notes, Treatment Plan Reviews, 6 Month and Annual Assessments, and Discharge Summaries.
  • Perform individual, family and group therapy utilizing approved evidence-based treatment approaches as sanctioned by Swope Health Services' Behavioral Health Department.
  • Submit accurate and timely billing documentation consistent with the requirements of the particular payer or contract, i.e. Missouri Department of Mental Health, MoHealthNet, private insurance, or the Jackson County Community Mental Health Fund, etc.
  • Meet expected productivity guidelines and Participate in Continuous Performance Improvement activities, specifically auditing and monitoring of clinical documentation, to include conducting and analyzing peer reviews, comprehensive chart reviews, outcome measurement and reporting findings.
  • Be an active member of the treatment team including coordinating care of clients and facilitating/participating in treatment team meetings as scheduled to efficiently establish treatment goals for a comprehensive, client-centered treatment plan.
  • Must possess and demonstrate expertise in the area of diagnostic formulation and key evidence-based practices as it relates to the most current DSM.
  • Available to assist in mental health crisis situations if the need arises.
  • Must complete annual agency training as required by Swope Health Services and participate in ongoing trainings to meet continued education licensure requirements and department needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
