About The Position

Salt Lake Behavioral Health is seeking a passionate and talented Outpatient Therapist for our (IOP) Intensive Outpatient Program. This is a Per Diem position with shifts on Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm. Salt Lake Behavioral Health is a private 118-bed freestanding psychiatric hospital specializing in mental health and substance abuse treatment for adults. The Outpatient Therapist performs social services functions, including assisting patients with their biopsychosocial needs, providing therapeutic treatment skills, basic consultation, teaching, specialized clinical work, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term therapy, and referrals. Responsibilities include managing a caseload, providing mental health/chemical dependency treatment in a group setting, developing individualized treatment plans, and coordinating continuing care/discharge planning. The role involves working with a treatment team and a multi-disciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field required.
  • 2 years experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills preferred
  • Must have strong clinical assessment skills.
  • 2 years experience in dual diagnosis and substance use disorder treatment.
  • CSW, LCSW, ACMHC, CMHC, AMFT, LMFT with the state of Utah
  • CPR certification is required.
  • Must successfully complete our current training for restraints and seclusions prior to assisting in any patient restraints or seclusions and within 90 days of employment.
  • May be required to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities
