About The Position

Vail Health is seeking an Outpatient Behavioral Health Supervisor to provide comprehensive outpatient individual, family, couples, and group therapy services to the Summit and Eagle County community. This role is also responsible for the clinical supervision and oversight of outpatient Behavioral Health Providers (LPC, LCSW, Psychologists), providing support to outpatient student training programs and operational support for the department. The Supervisor will provide general outpatient behavioral health services to a diverse population of outpatients clients, maintaining a caseload of minimally 24 billable clinical hours per week, which includes facilitating 1 to 2 groups per week. Services will be delivered across all Outpatient Clinics and will include psychological assessment and neurological evaluation, supporting doctoral level trainees. The Supervisor will provide clinical oversight to approximately 15 clinicians, including individual supervision sessions covering caseload, productivity, case conceptualization, documentation, and compliance metrics. This position will also manage Behavioral Health Provider schedules, time-off requests, and work with management and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, including chart audits and data reporting. The role requires maintaining excellent clinical documentation, modeling Just Culture principles, and ensuring HIPAA compliance.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in an outpatient or community behavioral health setting, required.
  • 1 year of supervision, required.
  • Understanding of Colorado laws and regulations as they relate to mental health practices, privacy, confidentiality, supervision, and ethical delivery of care.
  • Experience overseeing accurate and timely data collection and data reporting to include Medicaid billing or reporting requirements.
  • Expertise in American Psychological Association (APA) ethical codes and applicable statutes.
  • State of Colorado Licensed Psychologist (PSY), Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Professional Counselor, required.
  • Master’s or doctoral degree in social work, psychology, counselor or related field, required.

Nice To Haves

  • Rural behavioral health experience with specific knowledge of resources and community agencies specific to Eagle County preferred.
  • Bilingual strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient individual, family, couples, and group therapy services.

  • Support doctoral level trainees through the Eagle Valley Behavioral Health Psychological Assessment Clinic.
  • Provide clinical oversight to approximately 15 outpatient behavioral health providers.
  • Provide at least 1 hour of individual clinical supervision to Behavioral Health Providers on a biweekly basis, reviewing caseload, productivity, case conceptualization, documentation, and compliance metrics.
  • Provide back-up coverage for other supervisory clinical staff.
  • Manage Behavioral Health Provider schedules, time-off requests, and other logistical requests.
  • Collaborate with management and compliance teams to ensure compliance with all Community Mental Health Center, CMS, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in meetings, perform chart audits, and complete monthly data reporting.
  • Maintain excellent clinical documentation in alignment with local, internal, state, federal, and regulatory standards.
