About The Position

This position is responsible for a variety of tasks related to the handling of merchandise in an outlet store environment. Key duties include loading and unloading trucks, sorting merchandise, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and operating equipment such as a forklift and tipper machine. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.

Requirements

  • Must have dependable transportation.
  • Able to use pallet jack, two-wheel dollies and four-wheel carts.
  • Able to sort and pack merchandise for safe storage or transport.
  • Must be able to read and write.
  • Basic computer skills including use of various retail related systems, understanding of basic programs (Microsoft Word), etc.
  • Multi-cultural sensitivity: the ability to demonstrate a sensitivity and awareness of diversities in people and cultures.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, and have reliable transportation to and from work.

Responsibilities

  • Unloads or loads trucks at dock.
  • Sorts merchandise into containers for processing and sale.
  • Sorts unsold merchandise into containers for post outlet disposition.
  • Maintains a clean and safe working area.
  • Cleans all areas of outlet store according to provided direction.
  • Operates tipper machine.
  • Obtains and maintains license to operate forklift and/or walk behind stacker.
  • Complies with all agency policies, procedures and safety standards throughout work areas and maintain same to meet CARF, Department of Labor and other regulatory standards.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Visually inspects equipment prior to operating to determine if equipment is safe to operate.
  • Utilizes safety checklists to maintain accurate record keeping of equipment safety inspections.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the above duties, responsibilities, and equipment operation through evaluation.
