About The Position

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking an Outlet Barback to provide friendly, responsive, and consistent service that creates an exceptional food and beverage experience for guests. The role keeps the bar and service areas clean, stocked, and organized so bartenders can focus on guest service. The Barback works collaboratively with the broader restaurant team and follows Kalahari’s service expectations and values. The position is part of the leadership team and is described as guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering memorable guest experiences. The position may start as early as September and pays $7–$8 per hour plus tips.

Requirements

General food and beverage knowledge involving at least one year of front-of-the-house operations is helpful.
A background in the service industry is a plus.
State or local law may require a certificate after completing an alcohol awareness or safety class.
State-certified proper food-handling certification may be required by state or local law.

Responsibilities

Keep the bar area neat and organized, including the bar top, counters, and well areas.
Empty and wipe ashtrays; remove and wash dirty cocktail glasses; and clean up napkins, coasters, straws, and discarded garnishes.
Complete side work, clean the assigned station, and perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.
Serve food to guests in the bar area while following proper service steps and plate positioning.
Assist fellow associates—including bartenders, barbacks, servers, bussers, hosts or hostesses, and management—as needs arise.
Keep the bar stocked, clean, and organized to support efficient operations and exceptional guest service.
