About The Position
The Outer Tube Assembler Trainee will be responsible for the repair of the serialized component of the scope and ensuring the final product is free from leaks. This role involves grinding, buffing, polishing, cleaning, soldering, bonding, machining, filing, and testing the final product using automated inspection equipment. There are opportunities for advancement into roles such as Outer Tube Technician, Outer Tube Specialist, or Outer Tube Coordinator.
Requirements
- Ability to maintain precise hand-eye coordination to perform detailed tasks with accuracy
- Strong mechanical skills
Responsibilities
- Inspecting and evaluating, matching serial numbers
- Grinding, buffing, polishing, cleaning, bonding, paint filling
- Machining with hand held tools, filing, manual refinishing
- Straightening of outer tubes
- Soldering of external optical components
- Fiber transmission testing, leak testing
- Inspection against specifications
- Other duties as requested, directed, or assigned based on knowledge and training experience
