About The Position

High Steel Structures is seeking a 1st-shift Outdoor Skilled Laborer to join their team. This role involves performing various tasks related to the fabrication and preparation of steel bridge girders for transportation projects. The position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions and assisting with on-site iron work duties.

Requirements

A high school diploma or GED
Willingness to work outdoors, 100% of the time, in all weather conditions.
Experience using hand and power tools, including drills.
The ability to read, write, and follow directions.
A valid PA driver's license is required.

Nice To Haves

Previous steel erection (iron worker) or general laborer experience preferred.
Forklift certification desired, or willingness to obtain while on the job.
Prior experience in truck driving preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform all required duties to pre-punch or pre-drilled holes at splice section of steel bridge girders.
Match mark plates, as necessary.
Walk with and guide the MI Jack.
Chain products to trucks.
Set blocking for loading and storing products.
Assist with on-site iron work duties.
Use electric drills to drill holes where needed.
Learn and operate Mi-Jack equipment.
