About The Position

As part of the Outdoor Adventure team, you will play a key role in ensuring that every guest that visits Winter Park Resort has an excellent time and is excited to return. We hope the same will be true for our crew members as well. Your responsibilities include guiding guests on various daytime and evening experiences at Winter Park Resort such as: Nature and Summit snowshoe tours, SnoGo ski bike tours, teching uphill ski & splitboard gear and leading tours, and helping guests in the shop with sales and rentals- all while conveying your passion for the mountains and the resort to our guests. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
  • Five years’ experience skiing/riding at Winter Park Resort
  • Guide experience or similar knowledge base
  • First Aid and CPR certified
  • Guest service first
  • Honest, and follows established policies and procedures
  • Organized and attentive to detail
  • Hard working, team player
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to handle and manage confidential information
  • Able to snowshoe, snogo, or ski in an outside, mountain environment for several hours

Nice To Haves

  • Some college desired.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall experience of Winter Park Guides guests, including on time meet up, friendly and knowledgeable service, excellent trail knowledge, and creating a fun atmosphere.
  • Guide guests on snowshoe, SnoGo, uphill, and some night tours at Winter Park Resort.
  • Follow all policies and procedures that are specific to the Outdoor Adventure Department, as well as Winter Park Resort policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all laws and company policies with respect to workplace safety and work to achieve a zero-incident safety record.
  • Understand the retail and booking process and assist guests within our store locations.
  • Have a working knowledge of RTP and other booking systems. Responsible for accepting payments and making reservations for tours.
  • Ability to sell retail and maintain a stocked inventory in a retail setting.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of activities within the resort and surrounding community. Help curate adventure experiences for guests.
  • Uphold a schedule of guiding and store hours.
  • Adhere to direct and strict compliance with all safety standards.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
